Good morning!





Health will be in Mrs. Kennedy’s computer lab today.

IAR Testing: 

  • Please make sure your Chromebook is charged for testing this week. 

  • Please make sure you have wired earbuds or headphones for testing.

YEARBOOK ORDERS- The link to order a Central District 51 yearbook is now open. Orders will only be taken online at the Lifetouch website. Please know it is an ECE-8th grade yearbook that is combined for both schools! The last day to order a yearbook will be Sunday, March 15th, and no additional orders can be added after that date. 


WCHS PANTHERETTE DANCE CLINIC-  the pantherette dance clinic is on Saturday, March 14th!  The Pantherettes are excited to meet and work with any interested dancers.  Anyone in grades 6th-8th that are interested please pick up a form in the office.  Anyone in grades 4th-5th that are interested please pick up a form in Mrs. A. Uftring’s room (room 4).  


WCHS Cheerleading Tryouts: Washington Community High School will be holding their tryouts for the 2020-2021 school year on Thursday, April 16th at 4:30 and Friday, April 17th at 3:30. Prior to tryouts, there will be workshops held on the following dates: March 30th - 6:00-8:00, April 7th- 5:00-7:00, April 13th -  5:00-7:00, and April 14th - 5:00-7:00. If you would like a flier, please see Miss Karpowicz.



Library closures during test week:

  • Wednesday 8:00-2:00 - testing

  • Thursday 8:00-2:00 - testing

  • Friday 8:00-12:40 - testing & lunch


  • Please don’t knock on the door if it is closed and the sign is out.

  • The library will not be offering chess this week.

  • If students need to print during these closures, include name and class number on your print and I will deliver them to your classroom.

  • Reminder: If you checked out a pair of headphones, please return them WITH THE BAG at the end of the day.


EXPLORING ART CLUB MEMBERS: The next session will be on Monday, March 16th and it will be a kindness rocks art activity. If you are interested in participating, the sign up sheet is outside of Mrs. Kinder’s room.

Check the google classroom for the February Exploring Art activity that was cancelled because of the Snowday!! Stop by Mrs. Kinder’s or Miss Harrison’s room to grab the supplies needed to complete the origami art :)     google classroom code: 45a6tbb


Monday -- knitting workday!  

Wednesday -- we'll learn how to make pom-poms!  Bring sharp scissors with you next week for the pom poms.  If you have a yarn you want to make a pom pom out of, bring it with you; otherwise, I will have some scrap yarns that we can practice with.

SIGN LANGUAGE CLUB 🤟🏼: Sign Language will be meeting on March 5th from 3-4PM.  



TRACK:   Practice Thursday 3-4:30.  You must have a valid physical to attend practice.  If you need a calendar, pick them up in Mrs. Lohse’s room.  

SOFTBALL: The 2020 softball camp will be June 22 - June 25. Forms are available in Coach Lawson’s classroom and must be returned with your money by Friday, May 15. 

BOYS BASKETBALL: Check your email for a link to Final Four shirts.

CHEERLEADING: Cheer Tryouts will be March 17th (clinic) and 19th from 3:00-5:00. Tryout packets will be available on March 10th in the office. If you are considering trying out, please make sure you have a current sports physical!

DANCE: Current dancers- this weekend is our Pantherette showcase performance

Next years tryouts will be April 21 and 23. There is a sign up sheet and informational packet in the office

SPRING PLAY:   Bravo to all involved in this year’s school performance of “The Snow White Variety Show”.  Come get your award from Mrs. Woolard if you weren't at the cast party. 

VOLLEYBALL: 8th Grade won the first round of Regionals! Next match is tomorrow night at 4:30pm vs Normal Kinglsey at Parkside Junior High. Please allow any 7/8th vball player and manager to be dismissed at 2:20pm Tuesday, March 10th.

SCHOLASTIC BOWL:  Away Match Thursday, March 12th at WMS. Bus leaves at 3:35. The first match begins at 4pm and A Team will be playing first. REMEMBER have your parents pick you up AT WMS after the match.
