  • The PTO was at CPS to reward our readers.  Students earn prizes for their active participation in the AR program.  Parent support continues to be phenomenal at CPS!
  • The Leader In Me Events Committee put together an all school assembly at CPS.  The focus of the assembly was habit #1, Be Proactive.  The students enjoyed several "real school" scenarios put together by teachers that helped the students fully understand habit #1, Be Proactive.
  • Dr. Schu came to speak to our Central 51 third and fourth grade students on Thursday, September 24th! The students had a blast, and several students even received books signed by Dr.Schu! This event was a great way to bring our buildings together to celebrate a love of reading! Thanks so much to Mrs. Brod, Mrs. Mann, and Scholastic for this amazing opportunity! We are so very lucky!
  • Peoria Symphony guest artist, Orion Weiss, visited our 4th Grade General Music classes on Wednesday, September 25th. Students had the opportunity to listen to a performance and ask Mr. Weiss questions. A big thanks to Mr. Weiss and Mrs. Houle and Mrs. Randolph for organizing this exciting music opportunity for our students.
  • Construction Update:  The steel is almost finished for the band, choir, and art areas (around 18,765sf addition).  The block is going up fast in these areas.  The weather has cooperated for the most part, and the goal is to get all areas enclosed so the contractors can work on the inside throughout the winter months.  The 15 classroom addition for 3rd and 4th grade is coming along on schedule.  This is about an 18,870sf addition that will connect the two buildings. You will continue to see block going up in this area over the next several weeks.
  • Brian Faulkner, Senior Project Manager - P.J Hoer, Inc., has been doing a remarkable job coordinating the entire project. Brian and all of our contractors have been working very hard to keep everything on schedule.    We are blessed to be working with such great people.
