1. On Wednesday, February 13th, our 3rd grade students participated in their music program held in the Central Primary School gymnasium. Students sang, danced, played instruments, and showed off their Nintendo Labo piano that incorporated STEM into music education! The 3rd grade students did a wonderful job performing, and Mr. Nelson did a great job organizing the all-inclusive performances!
2. On Friday, February 15th, Central Primary School held its first annual 2nd and 3rd Grade Spelling Bee. Students began the spelling bee process by participating in classroom spelling bees. Winners of classroom spelling bees went on to participate in the 2nd and 3rd grade Spelling Bee. There were 28 spellers who participated and all did an excellent job! Our Spelling Bee runner-up was 3rd grader, Ada Shoemaker, and our Spelling Bee champion was 3rd grader, Jingyan Lu.
3. Democracy in action in Mr. Clarke’s 7th Grade Social Studies class as students are creating and finishing up Bills addressing school change that will go up for vote in class and then forwarded to Mr. Hoelscher for a signature or a veto. A great lesson in the Democratic Process and how the Legislative Branch of our government works.
4. Mr. Lawson is taking students on an American Imperialism Amazing Race/Escape Room using Google My Maps, latitude/longitude and other codes to unlock the IPad to solve the problem. Students are enjoying using their map and social science skills to complete the task
