1. On Wednesday, May 15th, Luke Flowers, children's author and illustrator made a virtual visit to our CPS Gym to do an Author Skype Visit with our kindergarten and first grade students! Mr. Flowers talked to students, created a Ninja with students and allowed students to ask questions. Students enjoyed the opportunity to listen to this author, and we are so thankful to Mrs. Mann, our CPS librarian, for providing this opportunity for our students!

2. Mrs. Sikkema and Mrs. Anderson, our CPS administrative assistants, were our most recent CPS Golden Apple recipients. These ladies were recognized for their dedication to helping CPS run smoothly day in and day out. Mrs. Sikkema and Mrs. Anderson make a great team, and we are so lucky to have them!

3. The annual CIS Awards Assemblies were held on Wednesday, May 15.  It was an amazing day of celebrating student success in all areas of school.  Congratulations to all of the students who received an award.

4. Congratulations to Gracie Glaub for advancing to the State Track Meet in the Discus.  Gracie threw well despite poor weather to make it to State Friday, May 17.

5. Central School District 51 invites you to celebrate with us as we kick off construction for district-wide improvements. Please join us in for a Groundbreaking Ceremony on Thursday, June 6 at 6:00pm next to Holford Gymnasium.

Work will be phased so that students may continue to utilize the space during construction. Portions of renovated and addition spaces will become available throughout the project, with completion of work slated for the start of school in Fall of 2020.
